Hi, I am Dr. Sami, a queer, non-binary, transmasculine board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic. I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, trauma-informed environment for all folks, including fat, neurodiverse, and BIPOC individuals, with a focus on queer and transgender healthcare. I have a diverse skill set and prefer to spend an hour with my patients, as I believe that addressing the muscles is essential for a longer-lasting adjustment. I utilize a variety of techniques, including diversified technique adjustments, activator, mobilizations, drop table, IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation), Kinesio taping, nasal specific, visceral manipulation, cupping, massage/muscle work, cold laser, sports medicine, and rehab exercises. My approach varies depending on the individual, sometimes using gentle methods like the activator and drop table, and other times employing more traditional chiropractic adjustments.
In addition to chiropractic care, I take a functional approach by incorporating supplements, herbs, homeopathy, and lifestyle recommendations to provide holistic care for my patients. I work with a wide range of conditions and individuals, including h-EDS, hypermobility, scar work post-gender-affirming surgery, pre-top surgery exercises and muscle work, BPPV vertigo, injuries and rehab, complex pain, post-spinal surgeries, extremity injuries, TMJ pain and dysfunction, children over 5 years of age, pregnant individuals, headaches/migraines, hiatal hernias, nasal congestion, sciatica, disc and nerve impingement, and motor vehicle accidents.
My educational background includes a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in 2020 and a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Health Sciences in 2022. In my free time, I enjoy playing and coaching roller derby, hiking, educating others about trans healthcare, and volunteering in the community. I am actively involved on the Education Committee for the U.S. Professional Association for Transgender Healthcare (a subset of the WPATH) and serve on the Board of Directors for Radical Abundance, a local nonprofit that helps fund gender-affirming care and body work for marginalized community members.
