Stacie (they/she) is an Oregon licensed naturopathic physician. She graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2016 with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and masters degrees in Global Health and Integrative Medical Research, with undergraduate studies completed in Community Health Education at Portland State University. While engaged in master’s studies, Stacie completed research into the in vitro efficacy of a natural spermicidal agent and loves to talk at length about contraceptive options and care. Prior to their life as a naturopath, Stacie spent many years working in social services in street outreach and in domestic violence/sexual assault advocacy.
Stacie approaches medicine by blending their experiences as a social services worker and medical provider. She believes that in order to for communities to be healthy, we must simultaneously address systemic injustice and inequity as well as personal health needs and goals. Stacie uses a combination of nutritional counseling, emotional support, herbal medicine, and pharmaceuticals to treat patients and is committed to working in collaboration with patients to develop treatment plans that are achievable and effective. She approaches primary care from a place that honors the tenets of anti-oppression, body and sex positivity, gender-affirming care, and harm reduction. Stacie especially enjoys working with patients who identify as gender diverse, neurodiverse, and/or queer.
Stacie brings to her role as Medical Director her academic training in public health, as well as knowledge of constructing organizational policies and procedures from both a managerial background as well as their experience as a former IWW organizer. Stacie strongly believes in approaching clinic management in a way that prioritizes the collective good of both staff and patients.
