accepting New Patients
My name is Dae, my pronouns are they/them, and I am an Occupational Therapist (OT) and Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). I graduated from Pacific University with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2025 and my lived experience as an autistic and ADHD queer and trans person of color with bipolar and my background in community organizing shape my approach to providing holistic care that is intersectional, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and neurodiversity-affirming. Your authentic and whole self is safe and welcome with me.
How can I support you as an Occupational Therapist? What is OT? Most people think of “work” when they hear the word “occupation”, but it has a much broader meaning in OT. In OT, we think of “occupations” as all of the ways we occupy our time with all kinds of meaningful activities. These can include:
Self-care, taking care body and mental health needs
Managing symptoms or medications
Chores and responsibilities
Work and volunteering
Education
Hobbies
Rest
Socializing
Navigating relationships and sexuality
Participating in your culture
Getting around your home and community
An OT helps you do whatever matters to you!
If you are experiencing disruption or challenges in your ability to do any of the daily activities that matter to you, whether your needs are related to mental health, neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, pain, or disability, we can work together to figure out strategies or adaptations to set you up for success. As a disabled person myself, I understand the shame we can feel when we are made to believe that challenges, we have are personal failures, but you are not the problem. Instead of trying to “fix” you, I use a holistic approach focused on helping you create a better fit between you, your environment, and your meaningful activities.
My areas of focus include:
Mental health
Developing practical strategies and adaptations to improve daily quality of life and participation in meaningful activities
Executive functioning and routine
Unmasking, unlearning internalized stigma for autistic & other neurodivergent patients
Lifestyle change to implement recommendations from NDs
Medication management strategies
Substance use and addiction
Harm reduction
Reducing or a developing a more balanced relationship with substances
Environmental modification and activity adaptation
Reduce barriers to functioning, improve quality of life and participation
Working with your disabilities rather than against them
Sexual expression with consideration for disability, chronic illness, and sensory needs
Gender-affirming care related to
Hormone routines
Exploring gender expression with consideration for disability, sensory needs
Surgery preparation and recovery
Accommodations for work or school
Mobility aid assessment and letter of medical necessity
I believe there is no wrong way to have a brain, and I am particularly passionate about neurodiversity-affirming care for the full spectrum of neurodivergent experiences, including more stigmatized mental health experiences. My approach to mental health is a good fit for individuals who want to go beyond processing through traditional talk therapy in order to make a functional difference in ways mental health and executive functioning challenges affect their participation and satisfaction in day to day life. For substance use and addiction, I believe that wellness and recovery are not one-size-fits-all, and am here to meet you where you are at and support you in developing and working toward your personal goals, whether that be fully abstaining, reducing use, or harm reduction.
Additionally, I am a COVID-conscious provider and am committed to wearing a mask during our appointments, and can support patients in developing strategies to participate in meaningful parts of life while honoring needs related to COVID safety.
Working with me, you can trust that I will hold space for your complexities, intersections, and the realities of systems of power you navigate. I aim to be a supportive space for self-discovery and empowerment toward wellbeing on your terms.
