Dr. Erin Weaver is a licensed naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist who graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) with a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2016 and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2017. Dr. Weaver also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She grew up in Ohio and came to Portland via Alcala de Henares, Spain and New York City. She speaks Spanish and has experience providing bilingual medical care.
During medical school, she completed a one-year clinical internship at Providence St. Vincent’s Oncology Department doing acupuncture for cancer patients and their caregivers and at OHSU Richmond doing acupuncture, aromatherapy and tuning fork therapy for mental health and trauma. She served as Fundraising Director for the NUNM chapter of Naturopaths Without Borders, and has participated in global health outreach missions to Peru and India.
Most recently, Dr. Weaver completed a 3-year naturopathic residency under Dr. Martin Milner, with additional advanced mentorship in cardiopulmonary medicine, endocrine medicine, mental health and trauma-informed care. She was a resident member of the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of SERV-OR’s Multnomah County Medical Reserve Corps for disaster response. She has lectured on a variety of topics to different law enforcement groups and other health care professionals in support of her belief in empowerment through education and community outreach. When she’s not working, she enjoys salsa dancing, hiking, reading, and puzzles of all kinds.
While she provides comprehensive primary care services, Dr. Weaver specializes in the integrative management of complex chronic disease, including a wide range of heart and lung conditions, anticoagulation, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, POTS, hypothyroidism, postconcussive syndrome, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADD, and autoimmune conditions.
Throughout her adult life, Dr. Weaver has worked and volunteered in diverse settings across cultures and strives to create a therapeutic environment that is open, welcoming and safe for all. Dr. Weaver combines Eastern and Western medical perspectives in delivering a holistic and person-centered approach to patient care, one in which she works collaboratively to combine her expertise in medicine with your expertise in your lived experience to craft the best health care solutions to meet your individual needs.
