Sara Gillham, ND

Dr. Sara Gillham is the Center for Natural Medicine's Resident Physician under the mentorship of Dr. Martin Milner. As a resident, she is available Tuesday through Saturday to see patients for health check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disease, and overall primary-care patient management.

Education:
Dr. Gillham earned her BA in biology from Willamette University in 2004 and graduated magna cum laude and with departmental honors. Dr. Gillham's love of science and passion for holistic healthcare motivated her to pursue a Naturopathic Doctorate at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), which she completed in 2011 with honors in research.

Medical focus:
While at NCNM, Dr. Gillham completed two specialized rotations, one focusing on Psychophysiology (mind/body interactions) and Neurofeedback, and the other focusing on Cardiopulmonary (heart and lung) and Endocrine (hormone) conditions.  Additionally, she is currently pursuing training and board certification in Functional Neurology. She is extremely interested in mind-body medicine, neurology, and endocrinology and how these and the other major systems of the body work in concert to maintain health. This fascination with the complexity of human physiology led to Dr. Gillham's involvement with research into the effects of Qi Gong on diabetes, Loving Kindness Meditation on heart rate variability, and LENS Neurofeedback on stress and anxiety. Sara is continuing her research as a fellow at the Helfgott Research Institute.

Outside interests:
Dr. Gillham loves creating and appreciating art, traveling, dancing, and exploring Oregon's great outdoors with her friends, family and her dog, Juniper.
